Talena Atfield is forking hot .... does it really matter if its a guy or chick bassist ... a chick yeh they are more appealing to watch in maybe a sexual way most of the times ... guys thats just to litsten or watch the bass ... females its liek a bonus ... but yeh .... they can be as good as men of course theyre just much sexier!

I agree with Senor beastofcarrion .... but then if they are absoultey shite on the bass ... but still i dont get whether this thread was about ... their playing or looks? i still think and know they can be just as good as male bassist ... and so shuld everyone else?

yeah i think the question was more about the playing and the looks of the bass player, but when you really think about it, when your listening to the CD or something, are you popping a chubby just because you know that its a girl playing bass?
who cares, im damn sure there is alot of good girl bassists, hell my ex was great on bass. Also, if your going to the concerts just to see a chick with the bass, your going for the wrong reason man

Ok, so I think that maybe I didn't word my last post very well!! I just needed to hear proof that the girls can be as good as the boys! Oh and no offence intended to any other female bassists..... or lesbians for that matter

Haha .... why can't i leave this thread alone? i keep coming back to it... hah.... i have an answer but i can't word it well ... something like .... there prob is female bassists as talented as male, but most bands are mainly male, ... but there is no doubt a female like cliff burton etc ... somewhere in this world .... wow talena looks like talented ... sorry just saw that haha |

There are probably some very talented female bassists but the odds they play in a metal band really lower the numbers. I don't really have anything new to add to this thread, I might have mentioned Talena (is Kittie still a band btw?), and although this isn't metal, D'arcy from Smashing Pumpkins is an interesting bassist. Not that any of their music is really talented, but still interesting. She uses a pick.
One disadvantage females might have is being on average smaller than men, but then again some really small bassists do their job quite well so it shouldn't be too much of a setback.

i'm a female bass player !
 and i guess i play fairly well,i play with3 bands and do a lot of the singing,1 is fender bender and its r&r and 2nd is stark ravin mad and we play metal and rock and 3rd is thunder and we do lite rock and new country,,yes i play for aliving and have played for 13 years and when looks were passed around they must have thrown a whole lot at me,cause everybody says so. i think its good that we have some bass lady's for those that do play i think most of us kickass on bass

Damn ... why didnt my links work thats stupid ... its coz it was a french site i think? lol ... but they were cool, it was just Talena looking cool with a sexy 5 string ... cant remember what bass it was ... hmm it was nice tho .. Sean Yseult .... couldnt find many good ones of her.. couldnt find any that loaded up actually! Talena has sexy bass ..

That last picture of Talena by the neck of her bass is awesome. The black and white give it an artistic air. Very cool.
