i ocasionally listen to nu-metal as some isnt all that bad, bands have already been discussed, and i dont care to elaborate on them. as to mushroomhead, i think they suck more than BLS wants to, i would rather slipknot over mushroomhead any day

A while back I used to listen (sorta) to that nu-metal bullshit. Then I found REAL metal and since hated that nu-metal crap.

I started with Judas Priest and other sweet old metal bands. My father used to listen to that and i enjoyed it. Then I got into Slayer and other things, and eventually into underground.

I listened to Korn  *goes to corner and puts on dunce cap*
It was mainly because my friends became huge korn fans back in the day. I went with it for a little while, then went into the heavy stuff.
Through out that time I was still listening to slayer and old metallica.

amazingly though, i never heard a nu-metal album, only the singles on TV and radio.

When i first heard metallica (Reload and Black Album) i hated both those cd's so i thought all metal sucked... then i heard sabbath and pantera

i got into metal thru old metallica and GnR, but the first more underground metal band i liked was prolly slayer, then on to death metal, then i found opeth about two years ago, and they still are my favorite band of all time.

Mushroomhead is okay, there things that sound whorese out there.
Skinlab is allaround a nice band, except theire Revolting Room that one is a peace of sheit. The same goes for Slipknot theire new album also sucks big time
As for Static-X,every thing that they have done after Wisconsin Deathtrip is crap too
Other nice Nu-metalísh bands wouldt be, Ultraspank, Devildriver, and i guess sombody would also call chimaira nu-metal band, but the kick ass anyhow.

I hate that one guy in Mushroomhead with that really crappy voice, he kinda sings like a old woman. Plus, I hate to admit it, I like Mudvayne. Both their bassist and drummer is talented. I hate to think of them as nu-metal though, I think of them as heavy metal. They're not really new, they've been around a while.

I think SOME of Korn's old stuff is OKAY. To be honest nu metal isn't metal, it's slow rock with whiney little bitch lyrics and low riffs. They could sound just a tab better if played somewhere on the 5th string, but NO if has to be LOW so they they play their riffs on a low tuned 7 string. It's mainly because of that that if you have heard one Nu Metal song, you've heard them all.
