Whether you like them or not, Summoning is, in my opinion, the most original band out there. No other band are even close to sound like them. They have created an all new sound: a kind of new wave black metal (how weird).
Finntroll also got their pretty unique sound.

Skyclad would be up there. Vintersorg, Blind Guardian, Nile, Opeth is pretty original too. Lyrically, Bolt Thrower would be up there too.

Also i don't think Nile are that original because its just Death Metal their playing, it may have Egyptian influences but its still just typical old Death Metal.
