I have an Ibanez GRX20L and it works really nicely. Stays in tune forever pretty much. Decent pickups. Fast neck. And pure black (well except for the bridge and machine heads). around 200 bucks.
Holy shit
i have an older verison of that (rx 20l)
it was the first guitar i ever got, and it owns
i have it tuned to B now, with 13-56 strings with a seymour duncan JB
Just play every guitar in your upper price range regardless of looks or endorsement by professionals. Your taste and comforst is the only thing that matters.

I play a Dean MLX, Id like to get a higher model with a floyd rose and maybe some seymore duncun Invaders for the bridge. Its all in prefrence. For death metal My dean is fine.

I recently bought a vintage wraith frome the metal axxe series. It was £250, which must be something like $400 roughly, but I think guitars generally cost more in the UK. i would recommend it, you get alot for your money - a bc rich in that price range would be pretty shite in my opinion (UK prices). A bit top heavy, but you get used to it.
yea i live in england aswell, and guitars really are twice as expensive, anyways i really hate vintages, , they feel extremely cheap. you should have got a maverick

not a cheap one though you can only get a rather utterly shit sound out of it.
jacksons and ibnaezs make alright lead guitars on stage and they feel comfortable of course.
something i wouldnt go for is a gibson. LPs are incredibly heavy (weight wise that is ) and unbalanced, and flying V is of course physically impossible to sit down with.
but yeah, a BC warlock does me fine both for standing and sitting down, feels light, very good sound, and looks nothing short of killer!!!!

yea but the warlock is only good when custom made...it looks good but everyone has one so its kinda not so cool anymore. the only good warlock on the b.c. rich site is the mick thompson nj signature series...Flying V's are amazing, u dont have to sit down with a guitar, but Alexi Laiho's guitars are awesome! I saw the Kerry King nj signature series at the b.c. rich site and it looked fucking drop dead amazing.

I've been wondering about Deans, I believe Nile plays them. For death metal, I like the Ibanez RG370DX or any Jackson. Or...basically anything light and with thin, fast neck and some EMGs. I've also been wondering about Carvins and Fernandes.

I have not tryed a BC.Rich yet who was of good qualety considering the price. They are crap in my opinion. The expensiver ones may be decent, but you get better guitar from other brands for a better price.
Jackson are good.
Gibson makes very good guitar. The LP may not be the eaziest to play and solo with, but the sound is sweet! The SG is very good to play, but the gayband named HIM use it, so it's out of question for me when playing metal. Haven't tried the Flying V, but if it isn't neckheavy, I think it is a dream guitar.

i'll sell ya my rg 370 dx, if you're interested. just over a month old, like new condition but with upgraded pickups (the 2 humbuckers are the ones they put in the prestige line.. v8 and v7) and better pots than the korean ones. new hard case too.
Well the guy in HIM doesn't have a signature model like the guys in Korn or Blink 182, he just plays Gibson guitars. A lot of bands play with SGs just because HIM plays a sort of Gibson doesn't mean it sucks. Plus I saw a HIM video and he was playing a Flying V, so I guess you hate Flying Vs too? Hey, you breathe the same oxygen and walk on the same ground that he does, so you probally want kill yourself so you can be diffent from him now huh jackass?

I'd never play Delonge Strat cuz i hate fender necks but i've tried a K-7 and its pretty solid but that U-bar tremelo system is kinda not neccessary.
Yeah I hate Fender necks too.
