Triple bass pedal
Just wondering if anyone has played one of these sonor force triple pedal?
One foot has a regular pedal and the other one has a pedal for the heel and the toe let me know if anyone has heard good things about this.

Goddamn what a gay shit.
I checked on in that store (heel-toe pedal).
It's fucking ridiculous. You might as well learn the heel-toe technique on a regular pedal, way more satisfaction, and probably a lot faster too.

pointless.... you'd have to start thinking in threes.. two on one foot and one on the other... thats just retarded. even 2 on each foot would be alot harder than just one for each foot if you'd want to actually want to make good use of it..

Anyone can learn to play as fast as they could want to with a regular double, duals serve a purpous but having two is just stupid and excessive.

a heel-toe pedal with a single bass pedal cna be useful. You can do double bass with one foot (if your good) and use the other pedal in some interesting ways.

The sonor triple pedals aren't anything great, I have tried them and didn't like them, I think it is better just to buy a decent pedal with a long enough foot board to heel toe and learn that way, I use an axis longboard for it, but I used to be able to just do it on my Pearl TW-100 (my first double pedal ) but I was and still am reletivley shit at doing it.

Hahaha nice one. I don't even have a double pedal yet and they are comming out with this shit. I can make my single pedal sound like a double pedal right now and can't wait to get a double. I wan't to be able to get really good with a single first instead of jumping into a double right away.
Ay NZ black metal drumm, you said you have a Axis pedal right? How are those things? Any good? I hear they are a bit too light. I am trying to think about what pedal I wan't next and I am thinking of Axis or Iron Cobra and if I get an Iron Cobra then I am getting the Hi Hat stand to match with it.

a mate of mine has an Iron Cobra and we had a Drum off in Auckland City, and I have to say I did like the Iron Cobra and it comes with a hard case which if you are going to be hauling it around alot is a good idea (he choose it over the axis for that reason) but if you want to go fast as fuck heel toe etc. the Axis wins, as for too light, I haven't noticed that, I find it is a great pedal, very good for speed, very smooth and it will not budge on carpet it took me about 4/5 days to get used to its feel and now it is VERY good, I prefer it over the cobra but if you are going to be doing a lot of gigging and aren't toooo concerned about speed (the cobra is fast, but the axis is faster) or heel/toeing then I would go with the cobra.

both are good pedals, but remember if youwant speed axis is the way to go the world record is set on a AA longboard double pedal, and pedals are ALL the Axis does. And the are very adjustable, you can make them feel however you want. But the pearl eliminators take the cake on adjustability, they come with 4 different cams for different response, the footboard itself is reversable so it can be either smooth or textured, but there is a down side to Axis and Pearl, price. They are way more pricey than Iron Cobra's.

While the eliminator is good (I also have a freind who has one) I think that they aren't that great, they are good sure but the adjustability on them is not as
good as it first appears. I have heard though that second hand eliminators can be quite a bargin.
on DW's I haven't really played on them or know anyone who has them, I know someone that thinks they are the shit but I can't really give you an opinion on them except I didn't consider buying them because of footboard length.
The only slight downside to an Axis is they come with an allen key set (or Hex key set) and sometimes it is a mission to find which key fits what nut....
oh the price one pays for ultimate adjustability........

Yeah well I will test out the Axis and Iron Cobra. I am on a budget and won't be getting anything anytime soon. It's my bday and my dad said he wanted to get me something for my drum set but I told him not to worry about it right now so I don't know. Kind of expensive for us right now and of course like always, money problems at the moment and for a long time to come. I have a Sonar pedal and a pearl hi hat stand that isn't too bad (the hi hat stand works nice) but upgrading would be nice. Doesn't matter until I get really good because if I get really good on shitty stuff and move to something much nicer and more smoothly pedal then I should be kick ass.

yeah when I knew I was going to be getting new shit for my kit, I went to my local music hardware outlet (known as the NZ rockshop) and tested the sonor heel toe pedal, the Axis, and a few others, I am a firm believer in try-before-you-buy it can save you lots in the future. as for getting good on shit equipment I bought the cheapest double kick pedal and used that for a year, now I have a reallty good one, but I need to work my endurance up, it feels like it has decreased MAJORLY, could have something to do with not practising much in the last few weeks.....

Check out Yamaha pedals they have a direct drive just like the Axis pedal, rather than the chain drive. A bit cheaper than the Axis too, they are both great. I belive if you buy quality you won't need to buy another. (unless it breaks)

yea I am pretty sure I have a 2 year warranty on my Axis, I am not too family with Yamaha stuff, their expensive kits are nice, but I find their cheaper stuff is shit, with Yamaha you pay for quality whereas other brands you get a certain degree of quality just because of the brand (I am not saying a brand name means you get quality)

Yeah man I agree with you on that one. If I get anything for my drum set now then it will be the best and the best meaning good brand, most comfortable, etc. I still have shitty cymbals, pedal and hi hat stand but my kit is nice and some people will think it's shitty just because it's old and not made anymore but they are deeper and the bass is a nice deep 24" and the sound of newer kit's these day's don't sound as nice as what mine sounds like. But anyways, I will check that Axis out. They make Hi Hat stands too right? Also on the pedals, is the long board ones better for speed and all?
Thanks again.

yeah the long boards are the best for speed and yes they do make hi hat stands with a the long board pedal, I haven't actually seen one/tried it out yet, but I should, even my School has a better Hi Hat stand than me which is just depressing, they got pretty much the new up to date version of mine and my kit is about 7 years old, and some of it is suffering from old age.

Dont feel bad about the shitty gear man, lol you should see mine. I have a sonar pedal and at the bottom on each side there are little lips in the front that stick out next the the bolt to attatch the thing to the bass drum and one of the lips is cracked off... I have a crappy pearl hi hat stand (but it has that thing where you can keep the hi hats closed without your foot on it and I don't know what that is called), I have no name cymbal stands, etc. The no name cymbal stands aren't bad though and are double braced and work really well. If I get anymore though then they will be top of the line Tama ones. I don't know but to me Tama hardware is the best besides DW.

I think the hi hat thing you are reffering to is called a 'drop Clutch' but it isn't so much I have got crap gear, it is more my school has better gear and school gear has a tendancy to be crap from over use/abuse.

What's with the extra pedals? You wouldn't hear the bass over that.

Axis is def. more expensive than cobras, but I bought my eliminator for 220 when the cobra was 250 at musiciansfriend.com. I think that in the meantime, the eliminator has crept back up to 260 while the cobra has stayed the same. I do think that the eliminator is much more adjustable than the cobra. I've played both pedals, and I think the eliminator is both more adjustable and lighter than the cobra. I prefer it, but for those who want a more heavy duty pedal then I'd go with the Cobra.
And I've heard good things about the Yamaha Flying Dragons. And also the DW 9000s are wicked nice. I've only seen ads for the triple pedals, don't know if they're any good.

If someone is that slow to need a fuckin triple pedal, stop playing double bass and besides, 3 beaters on one bass drum would prabibly sound like shit and reduce the life of the drum head. DW pedals are over rated i think. Iron Cobras and Axis pedals are so much better.

if you can smoke mosdt people on an ordinary double bass pedal imagine what kind of rhythms you could pull with a triple....
but you do make a good point, this would encourage people to be lazy ass drummers.

he is also the world record holder and he doesn't actually use a double double pedal, he uses and axis longboard with an attachment (called a VRUK) which makes heel-toeing a hell of a lot easier.....

Oh I'm sorry my mistake ... but it looks like four times, and yes, he is "holding" the world record, IMO, Jan Axel Blomberg is the fastest drummer of all time and with the best technique, and his double bass sure faster than Tim Waterson.

I believe (I am by no means an expect) but it enables you to heel toe with your foot relativley flat it doe this by elevating where your heel can sit, I also think it takes a larger movement to move the small distant required for heel toe, making it smoother and softer.
but I am no expert on this, go check there website (tim waterson plugs it on his site)
