Future plans
Hi all,
I hope most of you noticed that last quarter or so there were more changes in this place than, well, there are normally.
I'm going to continue bettering metaltabs, and I thought you might be interested to know what to expect in the near future.
Some features I'm working on are (in no particular order): - Official MetalTabs.com t-shirts.
- Member page at metaltabs.com/member/your_login/ with list of the tabs you submitted, both pending and archived.
- Possibility to edit tabs from your member page.
- Deep integration between the forum and the main site. I will probably use vBadvanced for this.
- Metal news on the homepage.
- Album reviews from The Metal Observer magazine integrated into the band pages.
- Slight update to the website design.
- Extensive FAQ pages.
- Several Top lists on the index page, including Top Tabbers, Top Bands, and Top Tabs.
- Tab comments + only members can vote for tabs.
cheers,
nomad

suggestion:
you could make a forum like the pending tabs forum, but for news and album reviews and stuff, letting the members submit stuff

I think not. There are dozens (really!) of websites full of reviews and news, but I want to concentrate on tabs. It's metalTABS in the end.

you guys come down hard on nomad
if you want to submit reviews (i love to) go to www.metal-archives.com or www.amazon.com
they all have a point system, and its easier to write a review than tab a song IMO

Yeah, I've thought about all these changes lately, what's up Nomad? Have you lost your job?
Great to see some progress on the site and it's content. It was great as it was, and now it's being improved upon. Yay!

I've got some ideas.
I have PMed them nomad lately, but i want to know what you think of them:
1. Keylaces in the shop.
Many of us pla yin a band and often they need something to carry their backstage-passes. I'd really buy one of those "metaltabs.com-keylaces".
2. A list of our bands.
I hate this thread "metaltabbers, that have bands". It gets so often off-topic.
I'd prefer a list with band's name, genre, location, contact.
On the one hand it shows the "profssoinalty" of this site on the other hand you could contact bands near by you for gigs.

Why dont we have album reviews from people from this site that "specialize" in different genres.

I probably won't add additional merchandise. So far, I had only 1 (one) order, I expected much more.

I like that idea. It would be much more organized - and useful - than the thread itself.
By the way, "professionnalism".

I think there should be more smilies. There are a hell of a lot more on the Cannibal Corpse Forum and that forum is way smaller than this one. Theres like a couple posts each day.
There should definatly be a headbanging smily.
