I make it a point to never go to Download. For obvious reasons; the bands.
Id much rather go to the Neurotic Deathfest in holland this year...

I been to download last two years but i think i will pass this year as there is a lot of much better stuff elsewhere.
Like Cannibal Corpse and The Berserker playing in england soon and Cryptopsy wasn't so long ago and i'm sure there will be alot more good stuff to follow.

Agreed. When I went there (2004), there were three decent bands: Black Dahlia Murder, Akercoke & Slayer.
I was planning on Waken this year, (again), but my financial situation isn't the best. (even for that £50 ticket and travel to the mainland)

My missus is off to Download this year, but the lineup is of course weaker than cats piss as far as I'm concerned, and the prices... I can't understand how they have to charge that much for a ticket when Wacken do far better for about £57.
Maybe it's because they don't have to pay for Metallica and Guns n Roses' egos.
Either way, Download does appear to be trying with heavier bands, but unless they appear in Kerrap! they don't seem to bother.
Until the UK gets a decent festival, I'm just not bothing. Bloodstock is promising (I went in '03 and '04), but only if you like Powermetal. They seem to be getting a bit better with Athiest playing this year though.
