zoom?

I am planning to get a zoom pedal. Are they good?
If yes then please tell me the points of difference between zoon GFX 707 II, zoom G2 and zoom G2.1U.
I have tried to google it and got a lot of technical data (which i hardly understand...this being my fist processor).

Zoom will leave a bad taste in your mouth if it's your first effects. Poor quality sound, cheap building materials, and undependable opperation. I owned one years ago and treated it like gold but it still kept braking down on me.

I had one for like 2 years,I never had a problem. They really, for just fucking around with are great, cheap and fun.
But,they still are little peices of shit, and for anything more than fucking around with, its not going to happen.
Better bet,save up for a:
boss -ME,GT series
Digitech - GNX
Korg
Even a Alesis unit.

They are called "Zoom" because of how quickly they leave your setup.

If you want a DECENT effects/amp/emulation pedal or what have you....get something besides the zoom. Those things just sound like straight cheap shit.

i also had one. thin plastic, very bad effects, and the sound quality was comparable to a telephone.

A Boss GT-8 is 17,000 times better than all Zoom pedals combined. I hate multieffects pedals but I do like the GT-8.

The flexibilty of the GT-8 is completely unreal as well. Being able to switch between two completely different amp models with completely different settings using only your picking dynamics is pretty insane.

Oh yeah it is. I was afriad it would sound like ass at first but after trying it out for 2 hours I decided I had to have it. It's not very user friendly but it's worth the time to learn how to use it.

Yea I might get the Boss GT-Pro which seems to bascially be the GT-8 in a rackmount format with a few other added goodies.

I would stay away from the GT-pro. It might have a few extra tricks but the firmware hasn't been as updated like the GT-8. If you really want to know more about the GTs then check this site out. I use it all the time. They got some nice free 3rd party solfware to use between your PC and GT.

Zoom are best used as frisbees.
And even then, they are mediocre frisbees.
