Or just get a book. I have 8 days to learn music theory as I'm starting Music for A-level on Sept. 8. It's working out well so far.

In my opinion, the best way to learn theory is to learn the following in order:

- Intervals
- Scales
- Chords
- Modes

Go to ibreathemusic.com they have very good articles on theory.

thats a good start adagio but IMO you need to start with learning to read sheet music before you do anything else

Thats a good point. I wasnt as clear as I meant to be, Im not saying that that is the entirety of what should be learnt, merely a start before moving onto Standard Notation, Rhythm, and later more advanced concepts such as counterpoint (if one wants to learn this of course). So Dimmuchild, thats what I recommend personally, also there is no specific order by which your learning should be directed, that is what worked for me, so feel free do what works best for you, but I feel they lead into each other nicely.

Here are some sites that I found helpful:
Standard Notation & Rhythm
1. http://www.acousticguitar.com/lesso.../notation.shtml
2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_signature
3. http://www.auburn.edu/~schafwr/theoryintervals.html

This site contains alot of everything, very well constructed
1. http://members.aol.com/snglstringth...itar/index.html

well, I hope this helps. Dont underestimate learning theory, it is a sizeable portion of becoming the finished product.
