Nonono, democracy works, it's the mathematical tools that are outdated. They simply don't work for a parliament with eight factors and it goes completely bonkers when you have two large parties of approximately the same size. Which we haven't had before this election, where my party did the best election ever and the Social democrats did their worst in ninety or so years. Though it may be that we haven't heard the last of this. There's still the possibility of appealing against the result. We do have some grounds for it. Such as getting a bloody majority of the bloody votes and not getting a majority of the seats in parliament, for starters.
Dictator with a personal high guard of elite killer meerkats? I could live with that. And no one opposing my rule could. MOHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But yeah that shows only the democracy doesn`t work. Just like a dictator, communism, socialism (which would be pretty cool to have), anarchy, monarchism, demarchy, fascism, feudalism, cleptocracy, oligarchy, panarchism, republic.

Unfortunately I agree with Gomers here. No system of government will ever work properly until we all accept that human beings can't and shouldn't be trusted haha. Communism, socialism and democracy all sound fucking great on paper, but their fatal flaw is that they depend on perpetual altruistic impulses on the part of those running the show. Never gonna happen. If we acknowledge that we're inherently and inevitably corruptible (or at least acknowledge that politicians are inherently cuntable) we'll all be better off.
I'm not being pessimistic, either. Open up a history book and see for yourself. Or just accept at face value what I said, and rest assured that it's extremely well-researched, well-informed and completely awesome and true.
Sorry to hear about your election cocksuckery, Patrik. Sounds almost like gerrymandering to me, except it's in the mathematics rather than zoning where you get fucked. Either way you'll be stuffing tightly-coiled cylinders of toilet paper up your split anus to stem the trickle of clotted wads of blood and spunk. Metaphorically, of course...

I guess you have no idea what anarchy is about
Like you have probably noticed my opinion on politics is pretty negative. My dream would be a small civilization where I could test different styles of leadership. And I`m talking about people of the size of my thumbnail that actually act like normal humans do. And no not virtual. I`m talking about my own little country. I would wank soooo hard on it

Being a politician should be a vocation, and as such it should only pay minimum wage, and none of this expenses bullshit. No one else gets expenses reimbursed by the tax payer when they have to commute or buy food. Their bank accounts should be open books for independent bodies to monitor, too. Wanna be a politician? BEND OVER!
If that's the way it was 99% of the corruption would be gone, leaving only genuinely psychopathic assholes for us to deal with, like religious fundamentalists and Nazis who would happily do what they do for free. It's the same idea behind forcing employers to pay illegal immigrants the same wage as anyone else, thus removing any incentive they have for herding up illegals on the border and risking prosecution. Take away the temptation and there's no chance of sin! Job done.
What other problems does the world have that I should solve?

I'm not at all sure I agree, Pads. Going into politics with any kind of serious approach is one hell of a lot of work, work that often spills well outside normal office hours. I imagine cultural perspective might make a bit of a difference, though. Here it's safe to assume that the vast majority of people going into politics do not do so for money or career, but because we, well, we care. Besides, it's only a handful of all the political jobs that isn't a continuous loss of money.
And there's the matter of recruitment too. It's a problem in politics, at least it is here. Skilled and competent people tend to forego politics for the private sector. Personally I find it fairly reasonable that the state as an employer should offer competitive salaries and bonuses.
Of course, then there's the matter of how the rules surrounding it are written and applied. But just as an example - we had my party's spokes person in environmental politics visit my uni a while back and she'll probably come again for a whole day seminar later this fall. We could never afford to invite her if it weren't for the tax paid trip and so on; thus we would have lost a lot of people, not only us party members, the chance to get a deeper insight into the daily work that's being done. Nothing is black and white. As a matter of fact, I'm contemplating wether certain statements should be taken as points of offense, not so much for the content as the all encompassing certainty. Not really doing so, but you get the point.

Haha sometimes hyperbole rolls of the tongue a little easier than it should when you're shooting the shit on a forum; I wouldn't be as self-righteous, single-minded or arrogant in a real discussion

Yea, I was pretty sure that was the case. Guess I'm just getting a little edgy, we get a lot of undeserved flack from undeserving, ignorant people!
Next week I've got an issue of the city raising the rent for a karate club to the point where they'll have to shut down. That's already generated about ten pages of text and twelve e-mails, but I'm fairly confident we'll get the matter sorted out so they can keep on going. See, why do papers never write about stuff like that?

Because the media is controlled by someone with a political agenda somewhere along the line. Just like here. We had a great, long standing, meat market that was state inspected daily. They wanted to move into an old store not far from the mall (another joke around here), with a lot bigger parking lot and a lot more room. The powers that be running the city made it so hard for them by saying that permits for this and that were needed and they took their good old time to approve, that once the business was shut down at the other location and this one was opened they couldn't make a go of it anymore and the guy retired. So that's 2 empty buildings in town along with a handful of unemployed people. They won't open either back up I'm sure and they'll join the 3/4's empty mall and tons of other closed stores around here.

I'd wank all over them too. Imagine looking up in the sky one day and you see what you can only explain as God covering the world in a semen tsunami.
