Watched "Reap & Roll" today, little lesson by alexi. They had a part showing off his sig ESP and specs n shit. I could not believe he plays HZ's. That just blew me away. I just figured it was an 81.

EMG is known for their actives not their passives... maybe thats a cue. IMO, they're probably the most sterile, dry and boring pickups i've ever heard. They dont have enough gain for me, they dont have any brightness to the sound... they just suck. If you want pickups... do yourself a favor and avoid HZ's.
