I second The Axis of Perdition. Perhaps the most conceptualy sophisticated band in horror matter. Mixing metal parts with dark ambient and death industrial. Atmospheric yet technical and very organic. Very few bands are able to manipulate the dissonance to such degree like The Axis. It also has strong cinematic and soundtrack tendencies. All albums are very different.
Another would be Portal from Australia. Abstract and very grotesque death metal lyricaly based on Lovecraft's mythos. Slimy, gross and very cool stuff.
