An arpeggio is just hitting the individual notes of a chord. A chord is 3 or more notes. So it is an arpeggio.

Right, now i remember my guitar teacher(classically trained, has a degree in guitar) told me they were closer to arpeggios then scales.
but i still think i remember him calling it a Symetrical scale

Oh geez, Cloaca got something wrong........ lol you don't see that very often. But yeah, I know what you were thinking, you wouldn't think Necrophagist would use the major scale sweeping? But they do once in a while, although you can hardly tell cause they're so damn fast

yeah muhamed plays alot more diminished sweeps than he does the "C" sweeps, or the trend i see alot is that he uses the "C" sweeps in solos. for example in foul body autopsy the intro and verses are pretty much based on diminished , then in the solo they play the "C" sweep with variotions like some taps etc.

Moises Kolesne from Krisiun is the Sweeper God...
there's a band from Brazil, they're called "Mental Horror", they play Brutal Death Metal, the Guitarist, wich i forgot the name, sweeps with a fretless guitar in a unbelieveble fuckin' speed, i wish you guys could listen to that, they're pretty good.

Kissing the shadows by COB is tolerable if you practice the speed, the only hard part is the solo, but practice it slow, you'll get it automatically. Talking about far finger stretching, the rhyme guitar in COB stretches his fingers for one chord from the second to the 7th fret! The note at the 7th fret is a fifth. Since you can play that chord with a normal power chord position, why not do that instead of stretching your fingers all the way to the 7th fret. I can only stretch that far while playing it normally if I use my pinky, but my pinky is my weakest finger.

That is the reason that the sweep picking sound to me a lot of heavy if it isnīt used as hard as it need to. I donīt like Necrhophaghist taht lot because it seem like a heavy solo, but The problem arenīt them. ITs ME.
What are the tipes of dimished sweeps???

do you guys use hammer ons/pull offs when doing diminished arpeggios? since theres 2 notes on each string.
also, some people put a hair tie around their guitars neck, then when a solo comes, put the hair tie around the first fret so it mutes the strings a bit. although a bit gay, it makes for extra clean sweeping.

hair tie? Damn lazy bastards... I usually hammer on/ pull off when there's 2 or more notes in the same string.
