Scale names given by inherent chords

I think it is that give a permutation of a scale its name by the chord you find in it, or indeed give its feel.

Code:
[--------------] [--------------] [--------------] [------------0-] [------1-2-4---] [0-2-4---------]

This is Lydian Dominant, one of Jazz Minor's modes.
The notes in cyan are the dominant (or dominant 7th) chord.

More examples later.

For Davie Gravy!

What scale's that?
Agh! E mixolydian. That has major AND dominant in it. I think we give it a major feel though, because of its other degrees, but that I don't know about.

Anyway, another example could be...
Phrygian Dominant! First scale I ever learnt! Fourth mode of harmonic minor.

Code:
[------------0-] [------0-2-3---] [0-1-4---------]

Magenta notes are the dominant chord.

Lydian Augmented. Another mode of Jazz Minor.

Code:
[------------1-] [------1-3-4---] [0-2-4---------]

Teal notes are the augmented chord.

A question of my own would be how do you get to name a scale harmonic? Specifically Aeolian and Ionian.
Is there a harmonic chord of sorts?

Interesting....

So it works both ways. Take a scale and build a chord, or take a chord and build a scale. So what did powers mean with "vi 4/2 in A" using the E Mixo. That would be A Aeolian (Nat. Minor) but why does it have a minor (looks like sus4 somethinganother) chord built on the 6th degree? Is he saying using A natural minor (e mixo) on the 6th degree of the scale you build a minor sus4/2 or something like that?

Actually it was kind of a joke.......I made a random scale out of a 7th chord.

vi 4/2 in A major is E-F#-A-C#

or....

Code:
D|----------| A|-------4--| E|-0-2-5----|
