Using two fingers, perhaps?

I'm not voting on this, because it's kinda silly. Using one or the other exclusively just limits the ability to change sound and dynamic.

How did you work that out? I nearly always use two strings no matter what tuning I'm in (even though I will vary a little) because I prefer the sound. Even though, when in drop tunings, I do often find myself accidentally hitting the third string in the chord.

What else do you use drop tunings for than playing 3-string PCs faster?

Weird chords you can't do in standard tunings. As well as some funky legato shit. I've also managed to transpose the opening sweep arpeggio in Arsis "The Face of My Innocence" to the lower 2 strings making it a lot simpler, a lot more like a legato, and sounding even more awesome.
