i almost bought a fretless bass once... just because they're so cool... i used to play the chello they have no frets, but then right before i bought it i realized i dont play bass, and i dont want to, so there realy was no point in buying it...

Id say opeth... and iced earth... and death.. and sadus... anything really.. u can use a fretless for any sort of metall.. cept for thrash..

because i saw this beautifully beautiful one and i want it *cries*
hm...i'd like to play death metal or grind or that type of music...
so dunno...i think ill stick to fretted for now....but id *kill* for a fretless one
besides the fact thats its heartbreakingly expensive...maybe someday..maybe someday..

why is a fretless not good for thrash?......im planning to buy a fretless 5 string..if i get a good one ill buy it.....if not then prob go for a fretted one

Michael Manring does some insane fretless work as well (while going through a 100 tunings in one song).

One of the best fretless's you can buy would be a Fender Jazz fretless, the old jaco pastorius style ones.. tasty!
