Talking Single coil pickups in humbucker housing?

I was just wondering...

I have a Jackson USA Dinky with active EMGs (81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck positions respectively) and, although the tone is fine as it is, I was thinking of trying single coil pickups for a brighter, more cutting tone. Are there any single coil pickups housed in humbucker housings by any chance?

The thought behind all this is to achieve more separation in terms of eq between the bass guitar and the electric, i.e. the bass guitar producing the low end and the electric the high end, as much as possible.

In this way, the bass guitar would be heard more dinstinctly without being buried by the thick guitars as much as possible. You know what I mean?

I think there's a way around this and this would be to boost around 1kHz on the bass to produce that clunky attack sound but I would use that technique minimally as I don't like that clunky sound.

Well, I hope I didn't say too many heresies lol. I'm not a producer or anything like that.

Hope to hear your opinions, thanks!

EMG 89 are split coils if I remember right. Basically wired to supply 2 singles in humhucker or separate singles pickups, depending on the tech that does the selector switch wiring. All active and EMG. They match with most other EMGs so it will look nice.

Thank you so much, Soulinsane! Incidentally, I came across those pickups on the EMG website but thanks anyway!
I'd love to try them some day!

There's a new signature guitar out...

It's a best of both worlds guitar... Humbucker + single coil! Check it out!
