Well, no. While 'cheap' is certainly a relative property, for something to merit being a 'cheap something,' it has to be inexpensive relative to other objects of the same type. It's inherent in the cost of the thing, and no Mac can have it while there are so many other personal computers out there that wreck their bottom line like a porn star's anal elasticity. Now, if you have enough money, the differences between the cost of things may seem much smaller, it's true, but they are still there as a baseline for comparison.

Which is to say, just because you can afford it doesn't make it cheap. Just as your inability to afford it doesn't necessarily make it expensive. These things are determined by market forces, and the invisible hand of the market doesn't give a fuck about how much money you as an individual have.

I should also not that 'cheap' may signify the quality of a thing, regardless of its asking cost - and specifically a discrepancy between a low level of the former and a high level of the latter - and in that sense some may argue that all Macs are 'cheap.' Obviously not me, though.

That's cool. I started as a 4 star. My son is doing a lot of web designs and other stuff branching out from it. He writes way better than I ever will though. Out of about 200 articles I've only had 2 3star so far.

Ahh. That's to hear about the 4star. From what she told me yesterday someone she wrote an article for hired her as a 4 star or something like that. Not sure how the system works. The money you earn from 3 to 4 is quite a difference.

Yeah, it all depends on how long the article is, too. It's fun though and a bit of a challenge. I've written music reviews, recipes, travel, blog entries, and all sorts of stuff. I think what your wife had was a direct order. It's nice when a client approaches you to do a piece for them. My son is bipolar and doesn't like interacting with too many people and he's always loved writing and books so this is a perfect outlet for him and he makes money, too.

Any of you guys and girls that want some extra income that's absolutely not a scam, it might be something for you to look into. You all write as well or better than I do so I don't think you'd have any trouble getting hired. There's no set hours or topics except word counts and the time the client asks the article to be done by. The only thing I don't write is stuff I wouldn't be comfortable writing or feel like it would be against my own ideas, or something that I might want my name on.
