i have always played with two fingers alternating. I am experimenting with 3 but it is very awkward right now. I can gallop really fast, so up until I get three finger technique faster than my two finger, I have just been galloping at high speeds to achieve sixteenth note triplet sections, and it sounds fine besides the slight accent of the ring finger. Its all a work in progress.

And by the way, please don't use a pick. It is easier and has a more even sound, but it also sounds like pure crap 95% of the time in my opinion.
