the drummer in my band paid like 200$(canadian) for his drum (used, very used) it's not a great drum, but that do the job

little tip:dont waste 1000$ to get a drum when you start. ..

you only need a basic kit : bass drum, snare, hi-hat, maybe 2 toms, ride&crash cymbals if you want.
go to drum stores (i dont know if there's one near your town) here we have "drum bazar"
