The most straight forward exersize is chromatic scales up/down and across the neck. Start off slowly until you nail it at that slow speed, then gradually build it up until your perfect in the next speed, and just keep practicing it, and stopping.. going back to it, and building it up to the required speed..

Or you could practice that 4-3-1-4-3-1-4 bit really really slow, and build it up gradually with a metronome and you will be sorted.
