Well, some people are just assholes. My teacher respects all music and has an amazing ethic and he never went to uni, he's only going this year, and so did my classroom music teacher who had a formal education. The teacher before him wasn't as tolerant and considered some genres of music to be unworthy. My violin teacher sucked, eventhough she had a full formal education she made my violin screech when she played it. Some metalheads are utter asshole elitists aswell, it depends on the person.
