Most of the song's lyrics are original. There are a few stanzas taken from the original poem ('Day after day, day after day' through 'but not a drop to drink' and the spoken section), which is by Coleridge, but for the most part it's an original parse by Steve Harris and can be credited as such. I prefer Dickinson as a lyricist, at least generally.
