Hi all.

I got my drum for about 2 months (a Tama Swingstar). I put my toms pretty angled towards the snare drum.

Now, the more you angle them, the more you hit them with the top of the stick, which seems to create lasting scars. All these small places of impact stay visible (creating a relief, lol). My two toms are fucked up big time by this.

Is this normal it happens so quickly? And when is the sign for me to replace it? (I mean the thing you hit with your sticks, can't come up with English word now).

How long does an average one last?
