If you tuned in standard D, drop your 6th string one step. You are then in dropped C. Shadows Fall uses this tuning on their new album also along with many new bands. I don't live where they're at...

I don't see anything wrong with using a pedal to "layer" your tube tone. Tubes give a certain response along with the tone that solidstate doesn't. I use and MT-2 or my RP300 with my 5150 and I get...

Trust me! The stock 5150 is good but can be modded to sound really killer. Before your 5150 even gets to your house I would order some J.J. tubes for that beast (eurotubes.com) good prices and...

Don't turn the low's up to 10? You're crazy! I have my low maxed all the time and it sounds tight and punchy. Have you ever played a 5150 combo before? I'm also not playing a bone stock 5150, I...

He also tunes down to B. I have a 5150 and can get that tone pretty much. The tuning has the most to do with the tone I think. Crank up the bass to 10, mids about 2 or 3 highs around 6 or 7. Turn...

Have you looked into the crate GLX series? Those IMHO are better than Line 6 any day of the fuckin' week. I don't particularly care for any of your choices, I'm a tube guy and don't play nu-metal...

I thought the 100 most metal moments sucked, left alot of good things out. Most of the stupid shit they showed really didn't have anything to do with metal. I just don't understand how they...

No? No what? It's not harder to play, you say it plays like an acoustic and had higher action which I would consider, "harder to play" maybe we view the term "floppy" differently. It does...

I farted around with the MF350 and couldn't get a really good sound that I like out of it. This was around the time I bought my 5150 which I think sounds better than the JCM900 I tried out. I saw...
