i use the savage amp setting,

eq to whatever - can get too bassy if not careful,

cab 15 - the others are shit

bit of reverb,

How long can you leave a guitar without strings, before it starts to damage the neck?

Ive been looking for a 7 string geetaa and one of the ones ive come across, he hasnt had strings on it for 2...

The closer the mic is to where the pedal hits the skin, the clearer the sound will be, so if you want that over "clicky" sound - put it as close as you can get it. Also ive heard pointing the mic up...

Try a program called Anvil studio ( http://www.anvilstudio.com/ ) open up a rhythm track, choose the stuff you wana use ( snare, hi hats, china , all standard midi crap ) and place it on the grid....
