Ran Guitars

Check out these real nice guitars used by Vader. What do u think?

These look pretty sick but the name on the headstock looks kinda lame. Do you know if anyone carries these? I'm looking for a new guitar and these seem fairly cool. Better specs than the ESP I was gonna buy.

Def 2003-05-10 19:29

they look nice, EMG's, schaller tuners, shame theres no original floyd on it, or a kahler. the name on the headstock does look lame, but for the money, it looks like a sweetass deal to me...

I never heard of Ran guitars before, never saw them in stores either, they probably don't sell them out of the US?

Mordor 2003-05-11 08:27

I'd never heard of Ran guitars before until i saw Vader in England. They were using Ran guitars. Anyway I think the guitars are all hand made in Poland and you have to order them or somet. But it's worth it for the price. It beats paying out loads of money for a guitar exactly the same.

Def 2003-05-11 08:32

Yeah, I agree, they use quality stuff building those guitars, and for their price, man... cheap... they look kinda like esp/jackson rip-offs, I wonder how they play

!!RaGe!! 2003-05-12 15:20

i want to that gig as well fucking blinding and i am getting that flying V guitar the singer plays i already havea dime 2st so i dont wanna get a stealth and i like the feel of flying V's

Ran Guitars

Im pretty sure this is the right forum.

Anyway, anyone ever hear of these? A friend told me about them. The have guitars as good as an ESP Kirk Hammet signature($3000) for like $600!! EMG active pick ups as standard and the custom shop is cheap too!

metalheadmark 2003-07-28 15:25

Sorry, something went wrong with the key board.

Any way. They have my dream guitar for 700!!!

www.ranguitars.com

Vader use them I believe.

GoredFaces 2003-07-28 15:44

Some things are cheap for a reason... but you never know, they could be pretty nice guitars.

metalheadmark 2003-07-28 16:10

Ive been told from a very reliable source that they are great.

The Behringer cabs are cheap and great.

Ill see if I can find some reviews but im very happy right now about seeing this place. I was thinking about bying an epiphone but now i can afford my dream guitar

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

artofnothing6 2003-07-28 17:55

haha, they use the same model name on some of the guitars too.

metalheadmark 2003-07-28 18:55

Hahaha, yeah I know. The KH-2 is Kirk Hammets esp and its the same there and The explorer is called JH-2. Hahahah!(James Hetfield).

DEAD 2003-07-28 19:58

Hex (Gothic) instuments are like that too. You get a custom made guitar(any shape) bolt-on for $800 Neck thu for like $1200. Independent guitar makers are usually not going to change as much as Gibson because why pay the same amount for a guitar that plays just as well when you can get a brandname. And they are not trying to rip people off, just making a living doing what they love.

metalheadmark 2003-07-28 20:39

What? No offense or anthing but I didnt understand a word of that!

I think im gonna go for one. Its gonne be exactlythe same as a jeff haneman esp signature but im not paying a couple of thousands for it to say 'esp' at the top.

Mordor 2003-07-29 14:49

There pretty neat, I played on one, a while back now.It was a Fuckin great guitar for a relatively cheap price. I first saw them being used by Vader , when i saw them in nottingham. They kicked ass. I would seriously think about buying one but their situated in poland and are a bit of a bitch to get in contact with. If i were u i'd get a custom made invader off them

metalheadmark 2003-08-01 03:14

Just to show you guys how cheap it is...

Dear Mark,
Avenger guitar in you specs costs 1170 euro( $1308). These guitars are all hand made and finished btw.
Best regards,
Dariusz Kuczynski.

even though i'm not gonna buy one, i wanna get an estimate of what one of my custom shop guitars would be on there.

edit: i'm not gonna buy one, but can i still go to the custom shop to get an estimate? i know it says click to get price at the bottom of the form, but it also says order form at the top.

Lamu 2003-08-01 03:55

Hmm what are all those colours about? "ting oil"???
And all those see-thru's...

Damn that Poland is not a part of EU yet, so I will forget getting my own custom shop -model :(

Yeah, they will just give you a price, than you order it if you want.

Tung oil is a type of finish, instead of laquer. This gives u a nice smooth feel, but this with cause the neck to warp earleir than laquer would because laquers harder.
