cd reviews
i got this idea from this other forum place: http://www.blackmetal.co.uk
they have cd reviews written by members (all original), so couldnt we have that too? no plagarism allowe, so to make it legal, it'd be like submitting tabs. |
I can only see that working if you start up a new forum area where people can start threads like Nightwish - Oceanborn, and then people can all add their reviews without it just being another band discussion area. You would need at least two mods cuz I'm sure it would attract a lot of shit.
I just don't know how to keep it with a solid orginazation. -OR- (this just hit me now) In the tab area, the band's albums are already listed, so next to each title, there could be a review link, and when it's clicked you go to a page that says stuff like --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mortician - Darkest Day of Horror Gigantic Penis - It sucks cuz everything about it blows. Boomashaka - I like it cuz I like shitty music. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- One review per person per album, so people just don't fight. I only hope there would be more lengthy reviews. There would have to be a way for our posts to automatically go into the review cuz nomad is busy enough. |
Or to put someone in charge of posting the reviews, so there's some kind of reviewing process and we dont end up with 39 'awesome's or 'crap's for the same album.
|
i dont think this is a really bad idea:idea:
|
i think this place could only beniffit from this idea:)
|
It would have to work like they way amazon.com does cd reviews......
|
i think it would be good because people could go there instead of asking "hmm i want to get a morbid angel album but which is the best guys?" you could just go look it up and see which one sounds better
|
This "amazon-review" is a cool idea. No discussion about the reviews, just reviews.
After a while you'll notice which guy listen to music like you do, like in all the magazines. I think that's a cool idea. |
and! it might be too much work, but in each members profile, it coud say which cds they have reviewed.
|
I'm for it, as long as we keep it simple and organized.
|
If by 'simple and organized' slayme means 'the reviews cant be inane or idiotic,' then I'm with him.
|
Ok, I like the idea, we could ask nomad to make an extra forum for it? maybe we can hook up the extra forum onto the website (so you get the review database data on the website)
I'll be willing to help out modding/reviewing the stuff if there's any help needed. Since I've got about 2/300 cd's lying around, mostly death, I can add a bunch of reviews too if requested. |
I'm for it too.
I ve also plenty of cds. and adding a rewiew won't be a problem. |

You know what else would be cool is if you could pick a certain song and whenever somebody clicks on your profile a clip of the song is played. Back to the CD review thing, I suck at writing reviews but I think it's a sweet idea. Nomad, where are you dude? |
:p cool idea :p
is it possible to put links on other websites so we get more reviews from other reviewers ill help too if ya need it |

same here man |
so how about it nomad? we're all more than willing to help
|
We should also try to make sure the reviewer is at least somewhat knowledgeable and to an extent enjoys the style of metal being reviewed. For instance, I should probably not post a review of a Hammerfall C.D., since I neither greatly enjoy the sub genre, nor know enough about it to make a reasonable call on its quality. Or else we would get way too much negative/confusing/ignorant reviews. Nothing against power metal, its still metal, I am just using it as an example.
|
so as a criteria, you must have bought the cd with your own money?
|
well thats not such a great idea weijia what if you got the album as a gift? and not just cause someone thought you might like it but because you asked for it
