what amp do i need?
Alright guys and girls, here's the thing,i need an amp! now,i wanna make metallica style ( their first 4 albums, more thrashier sound ) sound,so what amp should fit me best? try suggesting something in a price range 0 - 180 € ..that's something like 200 $ or maybe 200-250 $ tops,i think :) :)
thank you all ;) cheers! |
Check out some modeling amps like the Spider series of Line 6.
I once had a Hughes & Kettner 15 watt from the blue series. Try that too if you can. That thing rocked my socks off. ;) |
Ugh... digital. Ugh.
Anyhow, I always like to push a little for George Dennis, should you happen to have the luck of finding someone who sells them. I have a 60W combo. Sounds great and packs quite a punch with the internal speaker, fucking kills when plugged into a good PA. |

Aren`t GD amps way over his budget? |
Alright guys,thanks for the advices
while searching the net today i found this amp http://www.amazon.com/Randall-KH15-...r/dp/B0017L2CLG what do you think of it? is it any good? Please tell me your opinions:D |
Amp is gonna be small as shit. If you want a compact amp like that, I recommend you get the Roland Cube instead.

if you want to be happy, i'd say save up more money man. Theres nothing like burning 100$ on an amp that you don't like, it sucks.

There isn't anything wrong with Randall amps but I can't speak for this one. I have never played the amp you posted, but I own a RM100 and the KH modules are really nice. The RM and the KH modules are all tube tech but Randall also make killer solid state amps as well. There are some very brutal 15 watt amps out there and I could only think Randall make more than a few. I also own a Randall Cyclone, 300 watt solid state amp, and it can cover chunky crunch metalica tone with room to spare. I personally still wouldn't pay more than $50 usd for any 15 watt solid state amp though. I have to agree that if you save a bit more you will not feel ripped off. |
