scale length help
My current guitar has a floyd rose and a 25.5 inch scale length. I use .12-.52 strings and tune to B. The string tension is perfect to my hands and I like the way it plays. My next guitar is going to be 24.75 inch scale and equipped with a fixed bridge...should I buy some bigger strings for this guitar? I've never played a Gibson scale instrument, so I don't really know how they are affected as far as string tension goes.

You should definately buy some thicker strings. I`d recommend 56-12 or 13.
You must try. I mean Zakk Wylde tunes to C and has 60-15 or something like that on his LP |
there will be little difference. a set of .13's will keep it nice
and zakk wylde uses 60-10. Its really stupid. |
I use .058 strings for my low B. It's all relative. See what feels good.
If you don't like it, buy some thicker/thinner strings. It's not the end of the world! |
