Top 5 Craziest Riffs
 

OK, my top five craziest riffs would have to be
(In no order)
1.Slayer's "War Ensemble" Riff before the solo
2.At The Gate's "Unto Others" (theres a bunch throughout the song, but I like the one right before the solo
3.Dillinger Escape Plan's "Sugar Coated Sour", the runs are unbelieveable
4.Nile's "Chapter For Turning Into A Snake" (all riffs)
5.Nothingface's "Same Solution" chorus riff


I could probably think of better, but I just really wanted to know if anyone agreed with the "Unto Others" one...its the coolest.

the keyboard interlude riff on "Sea of Lies" by Symphony X is pretty "crazy"

Fantomas - The Godfather ... when the guitar strikes that first chord and then just goes off!!!!! its just fucking fast and hard and makes you want to break things a lot

Sonata Arctica - 8th Commandment - first riff
Desturction - Bullets from Hell - first 30 seconds are fucking sweet

1. Main (Chorus) Riff of Dawn of the Angry by Morbid Angel - Doesn't get much better than that.
2. Last riff played on Scattered Pieces Lay by Crowbar - Purely Orgasmic
3. Verse Riff of Bury Me in Smoke - Down
4. Last riff of Indoctrination - Dimmu Borgir
5. It's damn near all one riff, but Perfection or Vanity - Dimmu, is also fucking awesome...

Cryptopsy - Cold Hate, Warm Blood = the main riff, but pretty much the whole song
Nile - Serpant Headed Mask = first riff
Dream Theater - the glass prison = shred riff at 2:22

Forever by Sins of Thy Beloved has some crazy violin riffs mixed with high piano notes that give it a very "un-goth" sound. truly amazing.....

Know Why the Nightingale Sings by Nightwish has some amazing guitar and piano solos....

Pilgrim by Arch Enemy has some great riffs............

The Chainheart Machine by Soilwork is chock full of crazy riffs, especially the chorus....

Speed Of Light by Stratovarius has a pretty cool yet simple solo riff after the main solo...it kinda sends goosebumps down your spine when the drum starts breaking into it..its a real short and fast riff but its fun:beer:

2. intro riff onHell awaits PURE METAL (slayer)
3. verse riff on battery (metallica)
4. intro riff on holy wars (megadeth)
5. chorus riff on I'm the law (anthrax) I guess its two riffs but i like em both the same


Honorable mention:

1.March of the S.O.D. You might remember it as the intro theme to headbangers ball The heaviest thing I ever heard back in 87 (S.O.D.)
2. intro riff to war ensemble (slayer)
3. riff on one right before the solo, arguably the illest metal solo ever (metallica)

verse riff on "fight fire with fire" by metallica

Oh hell yea forgot about that one traped under ice two

but then again just about all metallica riffs get honorable mention

I was 3...

I think I remember seeing headbangers ball a couple times, but i didn't know who SOD was then...but that is a pretty cool song.

No, bob. That song is so metal it'll rock your nutsack off.

I dont' remember liking it quite that much...
