Diagnosis; Humanity
Survival is our instinct
Self-destruction is our nature Separate the man from beast Preservation is what we do the least Pleasures in killing Maiming and mating No desires in living Only creation in devastation Steel and metal for decapitation Using Apollo’s gift from the Gods To satisfy our inner demons Watching the crimson flow From others, from ourselves Better to watch a mudslide Than a mountain standing tall Survival is our instinct Self-destruction is our nature Separate the man from beast Preservation is what we do the least Pleasures in killing Maiming and mating No desires in living Smashing and slamming Slashing and stabbing Tools for the wrathful man To tear up his innocent land Tars and feathers for the unlawful A rope and a rock to drown the unfaithful A bombardment of stone for the disloyal No thought that such torture was so unusual Survival is our instinct Self-destruction is our nature Separate the man from beast Preservation is what we do the least Pleasures in killing Maiming and mating No desires in living Using the means to create life To engorge in orgasmic bliss Giving into temptations of the flesh Perversions merely a means to an end Suffocation before release Down Satan’s Alley if we please Molest mankind’s best friend Defile the peaceful dead (George Carlin quote; “A rat will do a lot of disgusting things; He will not fuck another dead rat) Humanity is a sickness Mankind has the virus Survival is our instinct Self-destruction is our nature Separate the man from beast Preservation is what we do the least Pleasures in killing Maiming and mating No desires in living |
I think I'd change the "steel and metal" since that sounds kind of redundant. Pick another medium for one or the other.
And I lol-d at the Carlin quote inserted there, but it's a perfect mini-break in the song. One thing about using that is you might be messing with a copyright using it so watch out for that. This has a good meter to it. Very driving. |
Whenever I put music to this song and when we do start recording it, I would definitely need someone's permission to use that quote. Dunno whose, though, since George is dead (RIP).
This is the second song I've incorporated a quote from George Carlin. |
