Here's something I threw together a while back and just kinda forgot about it until now. The solo is incomplete and the intro is a little weak, but other than that I think it's got some potential. Check it out.
|
kind of reminds me off suffocation but in a more tasty way.
The solo is reminiscent of james murphy which is also good in my opinion. Overall id say if you worked on it, it could really shred some peoples faces off. By work i mean some of the riffs/structuring is alittle weak, but other than that each individual riff on its own is pretty cool |

Here's a recent one. I took a completely different approach to this, as I wanted to try something new. Whole different style than what i'm used to too. I went more techy and more diminished than usual. Let me know what you guys think.
|
by the way, I hate each and every one of you for not giving me any feedback.
|
pretty good it was
|
Guitar pro it motherfucker.
|
I've never actually used guitar pro. Powertab does everything i need it to, so i don't see the point in starting now
|
First in Forever is pretty good. The intro feels of strong Krisiun influence, the rest sounds different. Individual riffs range from average to very good. Flow is okay, but not great.
TD Song is a lot better. Once you get past the intro, the riffs are a lot catchier than FiF, and the whole song flows better and sounds more unique. Other than the coda in FiF (which is def Suffoesque), I don't really hear Suffocation in either one. TD Song especially has a good feel to it. Maybe some light influence from newer Deicide or even slighter influence from newer CC. What had you been listening to a lot of when you wrote each song? |
I wrote FiF about 2 years ago, so I have no idea what i was listening to when i wrote that. TD Song is from June and i think I was listening to a lot of new CC at the time actually, so good ears on that one. Thanks for the feedback.

huh? |
I would give you feedback but I don't have powertabs or know about it.
|
Download PT, it's free and light-weight.

Powertab is pretty much the same thing as GuitarPro, but stripped down and with fewer options, much simpler and much more user friendly. Like GuitarPro you can import MIDI and export MIDI and ASCII, and you can also, of course, export powertab files. There are only two scores; one designated for guitar and the other for bass. It's a small program and you should get it if only for the popularity of it's files on the internet (there are about as many metal .ptb files as there are .gpx.
I'm pretty sure powertab is older than GP, but it wasn't the first. I remember there used to a be a program called Bucket O'Tab that I never actually tried out and then Randy Tab came out and I used that for a while. There's also a program out there called Tabledit that I believe does the same thing as Randy Tab/Powertab/GP, though I haven't tried it myself. All the other programs are freeware, whereas GP provides the pain in the ass of having to find a crack just to use it for more than like two days (not that I would!). EDIT: I forgot to mention that GP can import powertab files, but doesn't always do it smoothly (especially when there's a bass score involved). |

Hmm maybe I'll get it, but it might prove useless since I'm mostly a drummer. Anyways when I DL'ed my GP it came with a crack and was very painless. |

So here's something pretty different that i found on my old computer. It's from a long time ago. Not even sure when i wrote it. It's at least 2 years old though. It's got some piano and some other cool little things to it. check it out.

Hahah that's pretty sick! The diminished part at the end rules too.
|
haha thanks bro. One day I will complete it have this recorded with real instruments and it'll be epic lol

Well, I don't think there is any excuse for not being able to stop and fucking go back a few bars instead of starting all over. It's a genuine pain in the ass and it's really a very basic function, no? Anyway, I fiiiinally downloaded powertab again cause this thread made me curious, and heck, that was good. Real good. I like the role you've given the bass guitar. |
