I need help identifying a guitar
My guitarist is having his custom guitar painted by me and a good friend. It has no names or anything anywhere on it to identify. It plays like a dream, i imagine it is something nice. It is equiped with a floyd rose bridge w/whammy that appears to be stock (hole in body wan't altered to fit the bridge). The body looks almost identical to the dean ml (dimebag) but from what i've seen the body of a real dean is rather thick, this guitar is thin compared to it. Another note compared to the dean is that the points are rather sharp compared to the rounded corners of deans. It's got a single humbucker PU in the bridge position. The only other thing on the body that may help is it just has a single pot for volume. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my friend got this guitar second hand and just wants to know what it is.

Heres a pic if it helps any one out.

someone might be able to identify it by the neck, it has distynct markings but was modified and cut down on one side so you can't tell what it said. also the body cut up to fit this neck so i don't think it really helps much anyway.

could it possibly be a charvel star?

It has sharper points.
At least compared with what i found of them on google, thanks though

if its a bolt on, you can take off the neck, and it usually will have something printed in there. Looks like a modded charvel star with a replacement neck to me though...

the area of the body around the neck was the only part that was modified, there were no identifying numbers or they were removed when modding for the new neck
I'm not ruling that out but i'd rather find a closer match

Nope not a charvel star at all, that I can guarantee. Their bodies are smaller, less symmetrical and rounder on the edges and the neck is a dead giveaway.

The body could be an old bolt-on Washburn dime guitar...

The neck has 24 frets right? The old bolt on washburn dimes had 22 frets, so it might be that as they had to mod it to get a full scale 24 fret neck to fit..

he says its a custom guitar, so it probaly wont be a regular brand dont ya think?

Doesn't look very pro like a custom guitar, maybe he just pieced it together himself but says its a custom just to brag. :D

you do know that it isn't done right, all the hardware is fitted and the body was in need of paint. after the paint this guitar will be flawless.

i think that guitars made by a brand called Starforce guitars, some old 80's brand. I ve got a starforce usa guitar and the neck looks near enough exact. Google them

thats a pretty neat guitar man

you should see it with paint on it, its got a silver bass coat with a blue pearl over top, we put a cheese cloth effect on it so the silver shines through in certain spots, reminds me of lightning the way the cheese cloth works and the bluse looks like a night sky, i'm painting the neck some time this week and will post pictures.

Looks custom-y... One pickup, one knob, plain looks...

Even if the guy pieced it together himself, it would still be custom, if you think about it.
