Favorite Suffocation Studio Album?

My favorite is Pierced from Within or Effigy of the Forgotten but i like all there albums they are great!

Transient 2006-11-09 13:06

put despise on there you cocksucker, dont ever disrespect dave culross again

Carl 2006-11-09 13:20

Sorry but i thought Despise the sun was a Ep?

Transient 2006-11-09 13:22

it is, but that doesnt mean its not the best thing they recorded. id take three listens of despise over one full listen of effigy

anyways my vote is for despise! i see you dont have human waste up there either

in that case, pierced.... but culross owns bohn

Sycophant 2006-11-09 13:29

From what's up there, I voted for 'Pierced From Within.'
And yes, Smith < Culross < Bohn.

LIES. Bohn rules.

"Pierced..." it is. The first four songs are the arguably best they ever wrote and it's pretty much the only album where they didn't botch the production.

Transient 2006-11-09 15:17

oh its botched. steve described it as the guitar tone sounding like "someone banging on a chain link fence"

that is the most apt description EVER

Ten Ton Alien 2006-11-09 15:42

oh, oh, the one with Liege of Inveracity and Jesus Wept and Infecting the Crypts.

i also heard Mike Smith's drum sticks are huge.

The guitar tone does rule. It also the first Suffocation album where you can clearly hear every riff being played. Effigy and BtS can't claim that.

I also enjoy the bass so far up in the mix so I can always hear it. My favorite songs are on Breeding the Spawn, by the way.

problematic 2006-11-09 23:42

voted Breeding the Spawn aswell. Dunno, got into it the most.

Cloaca 2006-11-10 01:09

Effigy and Breeding KILL the rest of their material.

Dyldo 2006-11-10 01:33

I went with Effigy.

Cunty Shunt 2006-11-10 02:15

Forgot to say Effigy earlier.

johnmansley 2006-11-10 03:52

Effigy of the Forgotten for me, too. To think that nothing - nothing - sounded like it at the time blows me away. One of the most brutal albums ever committed to record.

The Doctor 2006-11-10 08:55

did anyone check out the death metal allstar project Criminal Element? With members of dying fetus and suffo. pretty awesome

yes this can be considered as spam
