Mandalorian Crusade

(Intro)

Verse 1;

From our fleet in space
Through the storming skies
We desend in our Basilisk
Vibroswords and blasters at our sides

Cower if you feel
Hide behind the innocent
Shield yourself
Prepare for oblivion

Nothing you do will stop us
We know battle, we know war
We fly through your pathetic front
We are here to slay

For Mandalore!

(Bridge)

Verse 2;

You come at us with all your might
We show our respect by fighting back
Your courage is great, but you lack in strength
That will be your undoing

The frailty is so thick
We cut through it with our swords
Axes and power shields in our hands
A fight to the death is the only way out

That's all I have so far.

Are you starting a Star Wars tribute band or something?

Where the hell are the Wookie songs?

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-11 17:06

.... WOOKIE SONGS! Thanks for the idea :D

And you're half right about the star wars comment, only we aren't doing it as a tribute to Star Wars..... we just like Star Wars, and we like music. And we're geeks.

Megadeth 2006-09-11 17:32

Pretty cool lyrics, the only thing is im not the biggest star wars fan

tmfreak 2006-09-11 19:13

I was like ok.. i'm going to read this next set of lyrics.. then i read 2 lines and i was like OH GOD HERE WE GO AGAIN....

"Nothing you do will stop us
We know battle, we know war
We fly through your pathetic front
We are here to slay"

Thats a cool little paragraph right there.

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-11 19:28

Haha. Just think of it as a rule of thumb; CTL writes Star Wars lyrics.

The big problem I have is trying not to sound too blunt, but it's hard to do. I like being up front with everything because I hate reading (and of course writing) those kind of poetic lyrics that some bands write that I can't comprehend. I'm dense when it comes to poetry and all the symbolism and crapola in it.

blizzard_beast 2006-09-11 20:08

Jesus fucking Christ! Step away from KOTOR and put your hands in the air.

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-11 20:11

I haven't played any video games for about a month now.

I hear that i feel exactly the same way. I think the standard bands i listen to find a happy medium inbetween those, i think i lean (or at least used to trying not to) towards the side of blunt. I dont' write BLUNT lyrics.. but the point of the lyrics to me at least was pretty obvious. I'm trying to use more methods of attempting to get what i'm saying out other than just saying it.

A thing i read on wikipedia said it best.
Melodic Death Metal = "Traditionally, lyrics deal with more expressionist themes"
Expressionist (wikipedia) = "Expressionism is the tendency of an artist to distort reality for an emotional effect. Expressionism is exhibited in many art forms, including painting, literature, film, architecture and music. Additionally, the term often implies emotional angst the number of cheerful expressionist works is relatively small"

If that doesn't describe what i'm trying to do muscially i don't know what does. It basically sums it up perfectly, lyrically and musically. The distortion of reality for emotional effect, emotional angst, and cheeful works relatively small.

You might as well not worry about being blunt. Actually, a good place to look for what you might want to go for are all those fantasy and Tolkien-inspired lyrics out there; you're basically doing the same thing with a moderately different mythology, so that's not a bad template.

Unless you'd like it not to come out gay.

Ludd 2006-09-12 19:24

I repeat: Where the fuck are the Wookie songs?

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-12 19:24

They will come in time.

FearFrost 2006-09-12 20:33

I AM IMPRESSED!

AND IM NOT JOKING EITHER!!!

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-12 21:47

Thanks.

In reference to the wookie songs; my friend just said he wants to cover that one song from clerks. I forget what it is called, but I can only recall one lyric; "CHEWBACCA!"

Ludd 2006-09-13 20:51

Since you won't do it, I will.
By the way - "The band Supernova performed a song called "Chewbacca" where they proclaim "Whoooa, what a Wookiee!". The song is heard in the movie Clerks."

Kashyyyk Walking Carpets
Rise, oh great Wookie
Jump from your Wroshyr tree
The battle cry is in Shyriiwook

Forever hold your life debt
to the Captain
Rip off the the arms of cheating droids

Head back to Rwookrrorro
for a big fucking wookie party

(Everything I know about wookies I just learned from wikipedia.)

CompelledToLacerate 2006-09-14 14:24

 That's awesome, dude!
