Most Influential Song
What song influenced you the most?
I'd have to say, Mudvayne's "Dig." Not because it's overly difficult or interesting, but rather because it was with this song that I finally figured out the right hand mechanics of slapping. Also, a big thanks to Bill. You know I love you. |
hmm...
wow thats a tough question. i guess i'd say master of puppets.
|
Hah... I think I'd have to say "Longview", sadly. First song I learned, the day I got home with my bass.
|
tough one.... i cant pick out one.so here goes...
the philosopher lack of comprihension breaking the broken CFH veil of maya the chicken, come on over |
im a guitar player, but I'd say "my name is mudd" by Primus. There's something about that bass line. mmmmmmm
|
I still cant slap or pop worth a crap. I guess it could be some of the harder Opeth breakdowns like on Advent.
|
Mine was Huner/Killer by Quo Vadis... I had started (tried) learning it after 2 months of playing and I was saying to myself "Damn i'll never be able to pick that well.." then I learned it slower and after a few weeks I was able to play most of it ..
|
I can't even remember.
|
sadly.....probably.....
Queens of the stoneage - no one Knows :( |
queens...
queens are kinda watered down kyuss, but no one knows has a sweet bassline. simple but effective.
|
not sure why but i think the first song i learnt was burnin for you-blue oyster cult :( :stoned: i never thought that bass was lame or only for back up but i think the song that made me realize that more so was when my bass player friend played me classical thump. coming from the guitar world it was the first bass song i had heard that the bass wasent just back up or at least that i payed attention too. now i play bass just as much as guitar so yea, go that song. oh and +1 on the opeth. i really enjoy playing their stuff
|
first song i learned........Money by Pink Floyd
Hardest song i know?......Bassically by Black Sabbath or Pulling teeth by metallica |
i would say suicidal tendencies, primus and snot but especialy primus(jerry was a race car driver)

What's wrong with that? That's a sweet song. |
A lot of stuff from L.D. 50 influenced me bass-wise, but when it comes to music, Pain of Salvation's "Ending Theme" and Opeth's "Bleak" have probably influenced me the most of any songs.
|

Yeah, Rhynow is a fucking great bassist whether you like Mudvayne or not. |
The first song that got me into music as a whole was Crazy Train :) When I was like 12, and the first song that got me into playing bass....well I can't really remember, but it was Geddy Lee that made me pick up a bass lol.
