$500 for amp...what to get?
 

OK. My bro for years and years now has about 500 bucks to get a decent amp. He was told by someone at guitar center to get a Line 6 Spider 2 (and somehow I knew he was gonna say it before he did)....

Now I know better. He doesn't want a big fuckin cab or anything....just a decent combo for him to play around with...suggestions?

He plays metal mostly...not death related stuff...tuned low and not really really fast.
