Chord Progression Thread
Well, what makes a metal chord progression so metal, in particular? Go ahead and tell, my pretties. :vampire:
i dont know about metal, but I can give the 'theoretical' progressions
I-can go to anything
ii- V, vii
iii- vi, IV
IV- I,ii,V, vii
V- I, vi
vi- ii, IV, V
ii-i, V, vii
III-ii, iv, VI
iv- i, V, vii
obviously you can take these anywhere, where they would sound good thats just the text book shat
as far as metal goes there the tritone thing (root, 5, b5) or as a tab
dont know what gives it that tonal quility it just has it
Whoa sweet. One question, the commas after the - means that it can go to any of those chords? Or is that the next in that progression?
iii vi eh? I don't know about that one--never heard anyone use it.
i read that somewhere but forgot
i thing it is that if your playing the Key of C major then
i= c (root note/tonic)
iii=e.......so on vii=b and i after vii would again be c (octave)
it can go to any of those, like for the
ii- V, vii
ii can go to either a V or a vii
powers-eh dont look at me, I pulled out all my old theory shit when I typed that up and that was in there...
Thanks bro, you just opened up a whole new storyboard to my playing!!
glad I could help out
