I need old 80's thrash and I don't know why...
All I've been really listening to is late 80s/early 90s thrash. Mainly Testament - "The New Order", Annihilator - "Alice in Hell", Vio-Lence - "Eternal Nightmare", Watchtower - "Control and Resistence" and all Athiest albums. I need more, so any recommendations for me? I'd like specific albums also and please don't say anything like Slayer, megadeth, metallica, Exodus, yeah I've heard of all the mainstream ones.

You didn't say ANTHRAX! :)
Check out Sodom and Kreator. |

"Chemical invasion" and "morning after" are one of the best thrash records ever. But i guess most of these stuff is hard to find. |
As an old ass '80s thrasher and DJ who has owned or heard pretty much all obscure eighties thrash albums, I can tell you that the following are the only ones I still listen to fairly often these days:
Sacrifice: Forward to Termination (This is my favorite) Rigor Mortis: Rigor Mortis (second favorite) and sometimes Rigor Mortis vs. the Earth Testament: The New Order and The Legacy Sacred Reich: Ignorance Hallow's Eve: Tales of Terror Flotsam and Jetsam: No Place for Disgrace and sometimes Doomsday for the Deceiver. Nasty Savage: Nasty Savage Bloodfeast: Face Fate and sometimes Chopping Block Blues Possessed: Seven Churches, Beyond the Gates, and The Eyes of Horror Then of course Megadeth and Slayer. I don't listen to Anthrax or Metallica anymore. Once in a great while I'll bust out "Feel the Fire" by Overkill. EDIT: I forgot Forced Entry: Uncertain Future (this album RULES) |

It did?!! WHAT THE HELL ARE WE SITTING IN FRONT OF THIS CRAP FOR? FIND I MUST! |
I'm not a fan of Exodus myself, but I do listen to Death Angel. Check out The Ultra Violence - thrashiest one IMO - and possibly their newest album because it has some good tracks.
I haven't heard much Coroner, but I have heard that they are (were) very good. I really should check them out myself more. I won't name any other bands because all that I can think of have already been posted. |
