MY NEW AXE HAS ARRIVED
Today my new axe has arrived
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/world/produ...EXVSL-00-06.jpg It's a ibanez prestige series and it has some great action :scatter: It has a edge pro bridge though and I have difficulties with it. I can't seem to tune it low. When i tune to d the strings starts to buzz but the guitar is brand new. Does somebody know what causes this. When it's tuned t E its perfect. Thanks :) |
raise the action a tad so it wont buzz

Is this your first floyd rose equipped guitar? If it is, then you'll realize that you really cant downtune once you have set it up to a certain tuning. You can tighten the screws in the spring cavity a bit, which will help but I'm not sure how much. Also, you probably have some thin strings on there now (9s probably) and 9's are really only good with standard tuning (as you have stated as it being perfect in E). Thin strings will flop around alot at low tunings, causing buzzing even if the frets are nice and even. If you want to tune to D, I'd suggest some 10 or 11 gauge strings. I have 10's on mine now, tuned to Eb. |

Welcome to the club ;) |
thats the one i wanted to get :(
lucky bastard, :P, i would change the pickups if i was u, i would get a nice set of passives, i love emgs, but i think passives would suit a ibanez rg better, i aint got no reasons except a feeling |

Your grammar continues to amaze me.. Retard.. |
I also have a pair of active emg's lying around here. And a emg afterburner. ( the afterburner rules  ). I took it out of my ltd m 100 deluxe cause it past away a couple of days ago R.I.P Maybe i install those. The dimarzio pickups sound good, but emg just takes it a bit further.
:behead: And Btw. Thanks cannibal corpse. The buzzing is gone. I hooked it up with some .10-.46 blue steel strings tuned to D and it sounds great. |
