Optional Midi to Accompany Tabs
I was thinking that Tabs can be a little obscure to play by just reading sometimes. Or someone might not have Powertabs, but it's the only version of the tab anywhere. Any computer can play MIDI, so I was thinking, so some people don't just get frustrated and give the tab a low score, that maybe it could be possible to have an optional accompanying MIDI score? Anyone can make MIDI using Power Tabs [for those that don't know, File:Export:As Midi] or any of the many various MIDI composers out there. And they are so small too, so I don't think taking up space would be an issue.
So to summrise, A guy gets a tab, dosnt know how to play a certain bit, gets frustrated, gives the tab a low score. But if there is MIDI, he can check that before going insane. Basically, poeple that don't have PT get some of the advantages of it. Just an Idea that I thought would be useful to everyone. |
couldnt they just do the same by listning to the cd?
Why would they need a Tab if they could do that?
cause alot of people(me included) cant figure the songs out on their own, so we look up the tabs
Well imagine something like Fuck Im Dead or something, just a riff that has a blastbeat over it that is too loud or to obscure and you can,'y make out, a midi could make that clear as crystal.
yea or with black metal too i guess
Yeah! Some cheapo black metal with poor production or too much synth and atmospherics over it.
yea i see your point now, I think that would be a pretty good idea. I dont know if it actuall possable to hose the midis but...
Midi's are generally less than PT's. A few kb's, like less that 7 for most
and that's for 3 minute songs as well. good thinking miggles.
intense hammer rage i know, was an absolute fucker to tab out i most likely repeated a few parts. anyone reading the homesick abortion tab would get lost almost as easy as inside paris hilton's cunt.
i really like the idea. |
Why dont people just tab with Powetab??
People don't have PowerTab? Some people aren't smart enough to use PT. The servers might'nt work for some people. And for anyone that DOES have PT all they have to do to make a MIDI of theyre song is click 2 times. MIDI's are only very small, the same size or less than a PT which is extremely small in itself.
well.. why have to download the .txt tab AND the midi?
Just use powertab... i mean its not rocket science. Just seems like alot of work to make individual midi files for all the tabs. |
Dude, its an optional thing that the Author can do, and as long as it's an easy song, you won't even need a MIDI. It's optional to download a MIDI if you can't work out the tab.
yea nyeh ny3h u stoop1dhead!1one
hummmmm myles, i don't know man!
If it helps and it's not a ridiculous bitch to do, I'm all for it.
I say people should just use PowerTAB anyway, it's not ridiculously hard to use, it helps you to learn/improve your music theory and is generally alot sexier than txt. I actually can't read txt tabs anymore cause I'm used to reading the rhythm notation along with the tab score
I agree though, MIDI playback is so handy when trying to learn a difficult song. Another good thing about PT is that you can edit the tempo to something slower and then play along with it at a speed comfortable to you, and build it up that way |

Psh. Who the hell would even want to learn a song like that:p. |
