The only two I can think of off the top of my head are Last Rites by Megadeth (good piece) and In Remembrance by Morbid Angel (another good piece). I don't keep an ear out for piano stuff, those are just the two that stick out in my mind the most.

Star Crossed (Intro) - Arcturus
Remembrance - Sinergy
Enemy Within (Intro) - Arch Enemy
The Tower (Intro) - Avantasia

My favorite is Star Crossed. It sounds so cool, especially the faster part.

Pandemonium 2005-01-01 22:53

Listen to both Winds albums...

G_urr_A 2005-01-01 23:40

The intros of
Iced Earth - The Coming Curse
Opeth - A Fair Judgement

and the outros of
Iced Earth - Travel in Stygian
Opeth - The Leper Affinity

are piano parts.

If you don't mind "unmetal" stuff, check out Dream Theater (first one that comes to mind is Finally Free, but there's lots of stuff)

MoonRaven 2005-01-02 00:21

opeth - sillohuette(sp?)

harvester of sorrow 2005-01-10 00:32

I like a lot of Norther stuff piano-wise. Of Darkness and Light has some cool parts in it. So do many others.

DovenWolf 2005-03-10 19:57

FreeCard(Intro and Outro) by Dark Tranquillity and Norcturne by Insomnium, also Static by DT (middle of the song)

DeathCS 2005-03-10 20:31

begining of cryptopsy's - Phobophile
end of God Dethroned's - The execution protocol
i really dig the end of that song.

nomad 2005-03-11 05:38

Novembers Doom - The Knowing
On this release there's a piano version of Silent Tomorrow.

humancorpse 2005-03-12 15:14

Yeah defently cryptopsy`s phobophile

younguitarist 2005-03-12 15:40

I'll give it a shot and transcribe the intro to phobophile (piano) in powertab :vampire:

younguitarist 2005-03-12 17:39

Ok i finshed it. I'm currently tuned one whole step down so it may not be right..
I also uploaded the MIDI version because some of you don't have powertab..

Forbidden Evil 2005-03-13 00:42

Judas Priest - Epitaph

andrewc 2005-03-13 03:09

opeth - silhouette
dissection - no dreams breed in breathless sleep, of which i've tabbed http://metaltabs.com/tab/7880/
cirith gorgor - thorns of oblivion, which i am in the process of tabbing

Anyway...

Arcturus- Starcrossed
Pain of Salvation- Dryad of the Woods
Diabolical Masquerade- All Onboard The Perdition Hearze!
Dark Suns- Daydream
parts of Crimson II by Edge of Sanity
Borknagar- Matter and Motion (its got a cool 1930s Private I feel)

theres a great part of a musical trilogy, in d minor, which i always find is the saddest of keys, i dont know why but it makes me weep instantly, its very pretty, just simple lines intertwining with a horn part that goes baaa baaa.
i think the composer was very influenced by mozart and bach, so its kind of a mach piece. its called "lick my love pump"

opeth - weakness, simple, but killer.

shimbolla 2005-03-21 13:55

John Lennon - Imagine :banger:
