I was using Jazz III's but they are just too small
I use big stubby 3mm's only. Death/Thrash. Mostly Thrash. |
mainly i use Dava control picks, once i tried them i fell in love with them. super comfortable. good for lead or rhythm. For my acoustic Taylor
For electric i use a thicker pick mostly tortex .88's or gator grips .96 or Everly star grips .88 i play metalcore and some hardcore |
Dunlop Jazz III, switched to them a week ago (was using Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm) i play doom/death/thrash metal (i also play 60's/70's rock- this pick is good for it all!)

Hi, my name's John and I've been addicted to my Martin .98 for the past 6 years. I need a new one, but I don't want to change it because it's so comfortable and I don't know whether I could play death metal without it. It's beginning to dominate my life so that's why I'm here. OK, thanks for listening guys - it means a lot to me.

*points and laughs and john...steals his pic*

I have a Jazz III like that, its so rounded that I cannot use a new one now.
|
a really big ibanez not sure how thick pick. It's really comfortable. I mostly use it to play death metal, power metal, thras metal and blues.
I also have a fender 60 mm pick that I like a lot for playing leads. |

I use this one, it has a cute little turtle on the front :p |
George Dennis 1.3mm sharp pick (wish they came in 3mm), 3mm stubby, Teck Pick (made of metal).
|
I have been using Dunlop's 1.14mm Gator Grip for about 3 or 4 years now and I don't plan on changing anytime soon. In fact, I bought about 150 of the damn things at a local Mars Music a few years ago, so it looks like I am gonna have plenty of picks for a long time to come.
I know that the Jazz III is loved by many, but I can't get used to it no matter how long I play with it. I have big hands, so that might be the problem (seems to be the problem, anyway.) |
plectr'o's thick smooth jazz - the are like a polo mint! fucking great!
