lately im getting tired of seeing Kerry Kings face everywhere. I mean he writes some cool riffs....but come on...has he ever written one really good lead with some feeling to it?

This thread is nothing but a zing at Kerry King. I make fun of various other bands I dont like, so I cant blame you for making fun of him, but this thread is a waste of space. Make fun of people in existing threads, or, keep to yourself.

im not making fun of him, ive met him, hes cool and a good guitarist, i just dont like his style of lead playing and was seeing what other people dislike and like.

I'm personally a fan, he isn't real technical or anything I just like his choppy sporadic solos.

you did ask for a Overrated guitarist, Okay. I think KG just don't belong in that category because his excelent riffage, some of his solos are improvised, some not, but anyway, just look his past man!

its hard to point one, i'll go for Rick Rozz (ex-Death guitarist), he just couldn't play Spiritual Healing songs and Chuck kicked his ass off! :p

Kirk Hammet is overrated, I wouldnt give much for his leads, theyre covered in wah.

Between '84 and '89 he had some pretty good leads but since the Black album he's gone backwards. In summary, Hammet is way over-rated post-1989.

Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is a good guitarist, but for me, Trey Azagthoth is a little over-rated. Although technically adept, none of his solos are memorable and I strugge to remember one that wasn't drenched in wah and whammy effects. I've definitely gone off his lead work since I've heard players like Jon Levasseur and Daniel Mongrain.

pretty much only the newest shit has too much wah in the solos. but alot of the older shit that i listened to, like ride, kill em all, black, i loved the solos.

kirk hammet is definitely one of the most overrated. when i saw metallica live it was all wah. even the old shit. when he plays live its all covered in wah.
