Vintage V30 vs V60
So there are cabs equiped with either Vintage V30"s or V60's...
From what I saw in a glance, the V30 cabs cost more than the V60? Can anyone tell me the differences/advantages? Thanks :smash: |
do you have any examples of cabs? i've never heard of v60 speakers... v30's yes as in vintage 30's... and vintage 30's are arguably some of the best speakers ever made...

Surely...
http://www.musicstorekoeln.de/englisch/index.htm For example go to: guitar > amps > boxen > ENGL There you will see cabs priced for 945 which are loaded with V30, others priced for 600 which are loaded with V60. I just "saw" a difference: while V30 are 300w cabs, the V60 seem to be only 240w. Yet also Celestion. |

their is no way a 4x12 cab with vintage 30's is 300w... vintage 30's are 60w speakers...... |
I don't know.
I used to learn that in a standard cab (with V30's!?) there are 4 speakers, each 75w adding up for a total of 300. :stoned: |
FYI:
Vintage 30's = 60 W Vintage 60's = 60 W GT-75's = 75 W |
like i said before vintage 30's are 60w speakers... x4 = 240w cab... i dunno why mesa states that recto cabs with vintage 30's are 280w...

maybe the peak powerhandling or something.
|
maybe, because if i'm not mistaken, most celestions can take a little more than they say they can.... green backs for instance..... 25w of power handling... in a 4x12 thats 100w handling... push a 100-120w tube head to ten with that and the sweet cone breakup + powertube saturation will make you cream yourself.
v30's have a little more head room before they start to breakup though. |
