Forum Request
I was reading over the forums and had an idea. I am not sure if it has been brought up before so I thought I would ask. There are several different forums about guitar, bass, drums, and gear chat. I know alot of you here aspiring and talented musicians. Some of you have your own bands. I would like to propose an "audio engineering" forum so people could discuss recording techniques. I think this would benefit alot of people who are into recording. You could talk about analog and digital recording, computer programs and even different studios around the world. So now I leave the idea with the moderators. Let me know what you think. Also regular members if you like the idea post here so the higher ups can see.
 :D |
I have no problem with opening a new forum as long as that's what's really needed.
Discuss away!... ;) |
i could use some learning.....
i vote "yea" |
couldn't this just be posted in the gear forum?
well, I don't see anyone here bringing a lot of knowledge in that forum, let alone posts... I have some experience with recording, multitracks and studio mixing, but I'm not an recording ace or something, I think we're going to have a lot of 'it's probably or I think...' posts. |
there isnt a real need for it.
What about a Vocals forum? to complete the musician fora. |
what about a porn forum?

No, there just isnt enough experienced people here for it to be used properly. There wil be 100 questions and the only answers will be links to sites.
|
I know the basics of recording and live sounds, like PAs, power amps, mixers, eqs, and shit like that. My cousin does this in his spare time, If I can get him to join this site he would definitely be a giant help for this.
|
I agree. If noone will contribute to the forum then don't waste the space. It was just an idea.
|
Their isent a need here, this plenty of info all over the web about recording. Like Dead said... it will just be 100's of questions with no solid answers.
|
i think its a good idea as i am thinking of recording a solo cd demo at my house just on a computer. it would be completely beneficial to me, i would think.
also that vocals forum idea dosnt sound to bad either. |
i say we try just one thread about it. and if this thread becomes overflowing with questions and responses in a short amount of time, then i say we make a forum.

i like this idea, th vox forum, but the audio engineering one isnt bad. |
yeah just throw a sticky up "official recording thread"
as for vocals forum...it prolly wouldn't get many threads but it would complete the musician lineup as said earlier...could talk about styles, throat exercises, mics etc. yeah vocals would be good as more people have experiece w/mics and singing then recording equipment. |

Yes. Totally. I'd like to hear how horrible Atif sounds singing.:D |
Yeah, I'd much appreciate a vocals forum. Hopefully not only focused on growling/screaming, but also partially on clean vocals.
|
i think the forum would be a plus for this site, also adding a Musician Classifieds to the site would be good
