12-string songs
 

I was wondering if any of you could tell me some songs played on a 12-string acoustic.
Right now I can only think of Wish you were here-pink floyd
pride and joy - stevie ray vaughn
suicide note part 2 - pantera
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Andreas Kisser of Sepultura plays a 12 string acousitic on "Kaiowas" the tribal song from Chaos AD.

I don't think the song you're thinking of is "Pride and Joy", I think you mean "Life by the drop"

i bet there's an assload of good guitarists that play 12 -string, we just don't em.

Parts of Dream Theater - Peruvian skies, is a 12-string. What kind of 12-string you got, I have a yamaha (forgot model) It was my first guitar.

Does anybody know for sure whether Karl Sanders uses a 12-string at any point on "Saurian Meditation"?

Also, would Karl Sanders tabs be accepted on this site?

I don't think he does. He said that he uses his old beat up 6-string for the majority of the album. He also uses the Baglama Saz which I think is a 5 string traditional Egyptian instrument similar to a sitar.

I'm not sure whether Saurian Meditation tabs would be allowed as it's essentially World/ethnic/ambient music. PM Nomad and I'm sure he'll clarify.

Well, it sounds hellishly like a 12-string, the tracks I've heard. I will PM Nomad.

I think it's down to the weird tuning he uses. He posted what tuning it was in for Unas at the Nile boards about 6 months ago. I presume he keeps it in the same tuning for his other acoustic stuff.

There's that one gay Extreme song that has a good 12-string guitar on it and sounds great without Gay Cherone singing over it.

And the classic Led Zeppelin song "Over the Hills and Far Away"

That's not a 12-string, but it would probably sound good.

It is a 12 string dude. The solo's aren't though. (I think)
