The Red Chord

I think these guys are fucking good. Have a listen:

http://www.reflectionsrecords.com/records/downloads

Its the one labelled RFL034 with the music notes next to it...

HELLBLASTER-666 2004-06-03 17:05

I downloaded it and it was quite good!

BLS 2004-06-03 17:08

Yeh they kick ass... definetly some jazz influence

Def 2004-06-03 18:19

I know them, not a bad band, wouldn't expect poeple on here to like them though.

Dyldo 2004-06-03 19:28

The Red Chord kick MAJOR fucking ass. And I emphasize major in a major way. They are on a luck streak too. They signed them to Metal Blade and Metal Blade allowed the singer to bring his label on too. ALSO they got Longstregth (spelling?) from Origin to drum.

Heres an old thread that Slayme started awhile back about them: http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthre...highlight=Chord (Warning: The links he gives are not of The Red Chord, he later corrects it.)

I didn't know that.

I've heard comparisons drawn with DEP - are these accurate?

DeathCS 2004-06-04 16:54

Not bad, better than I was expecting.

Dyldo 2004-06-04 17:52

Who are DEP john?

I suggest everyone gets Fused Together in Revolving Doors by The Red Chord. You wont regret it.

johnmansley 2004-06-04 18:07

Oh, DEP = Dillinger Escape Plan.

kmlm 2004-06-05 00:11

I saw them open up for a band a couple of months ago, and live they sounded pretty cool.

I avoided this band for sooooo long becuase their name and cd titles make me think their e emo band. I dunno "The Red Chord" ... sounds emo, and "Fused Together in Revolving Doors" it just reeks of emo vibe!!! The i finally downloaded some song and slapped myself :p

No way, not even close. The sound NOTHING like DEP. Message me and I'll send you a few tracks.

BOSE 2004-06-09 09:50

yeah mother fuckers The Red Chord, is sick, i've been listening to them for over a year, and oh man, but yeah Darko is right they just got John Longstreth from Origin, Skinless, Angelcorspe.

shredder 2004-06-10 09:11

yes!!! i have fused together in revolving doors, killer cd. these guys just got signed to metalblade, and john longstreth from origin is now their drummer.

Chris Rezendes 2008-08-17 11:23

I just listened to them for the first time today... so far, I'm liking it. I don't know how unique they actually are in the context of metalcorish music.

Dyldo 2008-08-17 12:54

Damn, OLD thread.

To be honest, I haven't dug the last two releases much at all.

Clients was good, but not as good as Fused together. and Prey For Eyes has one good song, the rest just feels like filler. I wouldn't really call this band metalcore, but I'm not really going to argue it. A band that goes from releasing "Fused Together in Revolving Doors" to "Prey for Eyes" doesn't get my thumbs up.

johnmansley 2008-08-18 02:57

I thought Clients was a great record, although I've not heard their most recent output.

Chris Rezendes 2008-08-27 10:30

I can't stop listening to these guys. Not only that, but I really like Clients and like Prey for Eyes even more. Honestly, I like Prey for Eyes more than Fused Together in Revolving Doors.
