Are You A Rock Star Yet?

Just wanted to find what level all of us are at in terms of getting a band together. It took me seven years from first picking up the guitar to doing shows with a band.

I am kind of assuming everyone here plays an instrument.

pop/rock----->lot of gigs, some home made live recording
metal-----> just started
rammstein cover---->to be started soon

yeah, I'm in two bands, full time, and one sideproject called Chokehold.

my main bands are

Morning Will Come - brutal metalcore/hardcore

Beyond Driven - metal covers, ranging from Death to Pantera and from old Machine Head to Slayer.

anyways, both bands played a couple of shows, however I've been playing with Morning Will Come for a whole lotta time now, we had a bunch of shows around the country and made some good friends, I attached a flyer for you of one of our gigs we had in the past.

nah, they had their band name for ages, but then the american guys got well known so they changed it to 'still nino' pretty fucked up for them, those guys have been playing for 8 years and they're pretty good. their name is ridiculous though.

My last band was Death Metal and I was the singer(We started when I was only learning bass, although I played bass in a few songs later). We played many venues though.

I wanna start a new melodic dm band soon though, I miss being in a band.

I'm in a band, but we need a drummer (I'm out drummer, but I'm shit on drums, way better on guitar), and we need a bassist. But we have been gigging a bit, and we've done a bit of recording.

well, i jam with ppl, but alot of the punks here play nu-metalish, and they are not good. come to think of it, i've actually only played with a drumer twice!!! i'm probably one of the best players in town (i don't know everyone that plays) which sucks because i can't learn from anyone. nobody's ever complained about my solo performaces though.

who is a drummer and we wanted to jam(death metal of
course) but we couldn't find one fucking bass player who
likes death metal!So I just play alone and try to
record stuff to my computer.Also I wonder why many

I'm in a thrash/death metal band called Empty Eyes... we've done about 10 gigs mainly doing covers of band like Slayer, Iced Earth, Death, Sepultura, etc. Getting 100 to 200 metalhads each time. We have 7 songs written and we're waiting for our guitarist/vocalist to learn the lyrics before recording a demo.

So... no, I'm not a rockstar... yet.

I have played guitar about 6 years but i have no band. I play with my friends band Wrecking Ball now and then but nothing special. I am looking to start a Speed/Thrash Metal band.

i've played in 5 or 6 bands but only with the first we had gigs
it was called organism and we played fairly incompetent :D
after the second gig (it was catastrophic) the drummer blew in tears
and said he didn't want to see us anymore
soon after that he was found dead and cold :uzi:
